When planning a wedding date, the months of June, September, and October are usually the months many couples choose.
In the southern part of the country, April through June are popular months, as these months usually offer warm weather without the sweltering summertime heat and humidity.
While often overlooked in favor of sunnier seasons, the winter months offer opportunities for memorable weddings in beautiful settings. Here, we give you tips on what to consider when you schedule a winter wedding.
Choose Your Winter Wedding Venue Wisely
Choosing a wedding venue for a wintertime wedding is much like choosing a wedding venue for a springtime or summer wedding. You will want to choose a venue that compliments your wedding’s theme. You will also want to choose a venue that gives you flexibility to adapt to weather conditions.
For example, we recently hosted an outdoor winter wedding at Packard Point. Although the weather outside was chilly, the wedding guests were able to enjoy a fire that we created for them in our pavilion.
The fire provided a cozy atmosphere where guests could comfortably socialize and keep warm.
Choosing a wedding venue that has both indoor and outdoor accommodations is important, no matter what time of year your wedding will be held. In the winter months, it will be especially important as cold and sometimes sub-freezing temperatures can occur.
Don’t Forget the Details
You want your wedding day to be perfect. A perfect wedding day begins with effective wedding planning.
Finding the perfect wedding dress and selecting a wedding party is just the beginning of your planning. Your wedding’s theme will also be very important. Details to consider for your wedding’s theme include:
- Wedding favors
- Wedding photos
- Color palette
- Floral design
The possibilities are endless for your winter wedding’s theme. From a traditional white wedding with festive touches to a cozy winter theme, you will have many options to choose from that will make your wedding unique and memorable.
A beautiful winter wedding we recently hosted had a floral design that included blush roses, white poppies, and burgundy hellebores that complimented the wedding’s foraged greenery and branches theme.
A fireplace mantel decorated with cedar branches, magnolia, berries, and white-tailed deer sheds added to the wintertime atmosphere. An indoor reception awaited the wedding guests that included white quince branches with magnolia in silver punchbowls.
When your wedding theme compliments your venue you can create an experience of a lifetime.
Conclusion
We can accommodate a wedding for any season at Packard Point. If you feel most alive when you’re in the glow of a warm fire with a cup of hot cocoa in hand, a winter wedding may be right for you.
